Little Critters

Just thought I'd introduce you to a few locals.  They often frequent our place here, often popping by for a feed in the afternoon.  They don't say much just a bit of chitting and chatting from time to time.  The hummingbirds  buzz around at a million miles an hour so photographing them sitting still required a lot of stalking on my part.  They are really cool birds - tiny (about 5 cm in length), energetic and fiercely territorial.

We all enjoy their daily visits - it has a way of confirming to us that yep we really are in the northern hemisphere!! (Believe it or not we have to pinch ourselves every day to remember that we're here!!)

Thankfully the very annoying bird that decided it would be fun to make itself known at 5 am by knocking on the metal chimney flue has moved on.
